A Social Media Post About Procrastination
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been led to reflect on a very important element. This element can easily make a major difference continuously in your quality of life. It is nothing more and nothing less than your ability to not procrastinate. Yes indeed, procrastination is a problem for many people.
Danik Legault put me on this train of thought following a post he made concerning this same subject on Facebook. I then conducted a small informal poll among my circle to gather various ideas and opinions related to procrastination.
So here’s where I am in my personal reflection regarding this famous urge to always delay what we need to accomplish and to ultimately put them off until tomorrow…
Dopamine vs. Serotonin and Their Role in Relation to Procrastination
Dopamine: neurotransmitter of motivation and taking action.
Serotonin: neurotransmitter of the joy of living and associated with deeper and more restorative sleep.
The Interest of Neurotransmitters for Before/After Transformations
I am writing this part of the text on January 1, 2025. This morning, I received an email from Wolfgang Unsöld from Germany. He explains that the focus of his practice for the coming year will be on neurotransmitters. For over 10 years, this aspect of his practice has produced remarkable results with his clients, and his interest in delving even deeper into this subject remains as high as ever.

Therefore, if one of the best creators of Before/After transformations in the world has a strong interest in this subject, I believe it would be smart for us to take an interest in it as well.

Nutrients and Their Impact on Human Biochemistry
Before COVID, I attended 4 Muscle Testing training sessions in partnership with Nutri Dyn. These training sessions were presented by Robert Rakowski and Andrew Rostenberg. These two trainers instilled in me a very solid rationale regarding the impact of nutrients on human biochemistry.
During these training sessions, I witnessed incredible ‘on the spot’ interventions. For example, I saw a man arrive staggering with canes at the beginning of his treatment (he had volunteered to be a guinea pig during the training) only to get up from the table 75 minutes later following various types of manipulations as well as the consumption of certain nutrients right in his treatment sequence, and ultimately leave walking without canes with a completely normal gait. I already knew at that time that I was in the right place to be able to propel my practice and to stand out in the field.
A Solid Presentation on Dopamine and Nutraceuticals
Following my muscle testing training with these two incredible instructors, I became interested in the articles, books, and YouTube channel of Dr. Rostenberg. His book, Your Genius Body, is one I reread almost weekly to continually solidify my understanding and to better explain to my clients certain concepts related to the possible causes of their various personal health issues.
Dr. Rostenberg has published one of the most comprehensive audiovisual presentations on YouTube on the modulation of dopamine with the use of nutraceuticals. One of the highlights of his presentation focuses on the tremendous impact of dopamine on human life and how crucial it is to modulate it according to our individual genetic predispositions.
Managing Dopamine Modulation to Reduce Procrastination
All this preamble now leads to the following point: if you are able to modulate dopamine in your body (which I remind you is the neurotransmitter of motivation, the desire to conquer, accomplish tasks, and take action), is that enough to stop procrastinating?
In my opinion, if you are able to modulate or balance this neurotransmitter, you already have a very large part of the answer. This spark will allow you to have your starting resource to break unproductive thought patterns and block desires more associated with lazy people. If one wishes to initiate action or movement to complete tasks that we must accomplish of our own free will, a good dose of dopamine seems entirely appropriate to me.
Questions Regarding The Influence of Dopamine on Certain Human Behaviors, Including Procrastination
If you are perplexed by this famous dopamine, here are some examples of questions related to it:
- What makes a smoker constantly go back to smoke their toxic cigarette in the freezing cold outside?
- What makes a gambler at the casino keep putting coins in the machine or ask for another hand when they said it was their last one the previous turn?
- What makes an athlete push themselves to the limit on the field?
- What makes a man watch excessive amounts of pornography?
- What makes children throw tantrums if they don’t get their favorite ice cream or processed foods at the grocery store?
- What makes a drug addict want to get high again despite the terrible consequences for their health?
- What makes some people jump into the void with wingsuit-type equipment and risk their lives to experience the thrill?
- What motivates me to want to complete the writing of this text?
The summary of my thinking is as follows:
Learning to modulate one’s own dopamine levels naturally is an art, and whoever is able to do so will be able to constantly break the inertia of the obstacles that present themselves.
Energy Necessary to Overcome Procrastination
You could be the wealthiest person on this planet, but what would you do with your money if you had the same energy as a lizard scorched by the sun on its dried-out piece of wood? The answer is simple, probably not much.
Important Questions Regarding Procrastination and Energy
My questions for you then are:
- Would you accept living like that?
- Would you accept living half-dead?
If your answer is no, continue reading this text. If your answer is that you would accept living with energy as mediocre as the one I just described, then this text is not for you…
What would you do to change the situation so that you could enjoy your fortune as I described at the beginning?
Let me give you the answer: you would do EVERYTHING in your power to ensure you enjoy abundant energy on a daily basis.
Lack of Energy is at The Heart of Procrastination
Without energy, even the smallest task of your day becomes a mountain. A prioritization system then sets in within our minds where survival is the top priority. Under such conditions, metabolic functions in your body cease to operate at their full potential. Consequently, this energy slowdown will directly lead to the non-completion of certain important tasks despite the individual’s best intentions.
During my training sessions with Cellcore Bioscience, we were made aware of the number of mitochondria in the various organs and tissues that make up our body. Here are the slides in question:

A Fully Nourished Brain to Enjoy Life
In summary, your brain easily needs 5 to 10 times more nutrients than your muscles to function at its full potential. A fully nourished brain is probably the best gift you can give yourself in order to fully enjoy your daily life. Therefore, learn to cultivate your energy so that you don’t have to neglect various tasks that could have easily been accomplished here and now if you had the mental and physical energy to do so.
The summary of my thinking is as follows:
With mediocre energy, even the richest man will live an impoverished daily life.
Knowing Your Life’s Mission: Another Weapon Against Procrastination
What makes me happy in the present moment is knowing that I have an incredible future to live.
Sometimes, I think about that old era when ship captains and their crews would set out for months at sea in pitiful conditions with the goal of discovering the new world. They were on a very important mission: to improve their lot as well as their quality of life. I imagine them in a tavern, psyching themselves up and motivating each other to embark on an expedition that could easily lead to their own deaths. One thing is certain, once at sea, these men knew where they wanted to go to accomplish their mission, otherwise they would probably pay the price with their lives.
We no longer live in that era, thankfully! However, I see several ship captains around me daily going in circles with their personal vessel, which is: their own life.

Identifying Your Life’s Mission: A Key to Taking Action
A coach I’ve been following on social media for years is named Paul Chek. This man is a real source of inspiration for me on all levels (physical, psychological, emotional, entrepreneurial, spiritual, leadership, intellectual capacity, core values, etc.).
The Life Mission to Improve Resilience And to Overcome Procrastination
Even during his most commonplace presentations on various subjects on YouTube, he constantly talks about the importance of having identified one’s life mission or at least being in the process of identifying it. Paul explains that when a man’s life is not guided by a sufficiently large and profound life mission, then his life will be constantly derailed by momentary crises and various mediocre problems. Crisis situations will become his main daily guide.
Therefore, by living different life experiences, it is imperative to stop, observe, reflect, and draw conclusions about the direction in which we really want to take our lives. This will bring a lot of meaning to our raison d’être as well as to our present and future actions. It will provide us with another form of spark to continue working hard despite adversity and to stay focused on what needs to be done. This life mission that I am striving to describe to you will become like a star shining in the sky, allowing the ship’s captain to align himself in the right direction and ensure an even more exciting and promising tomorrow.
The summary of my thinking is as follows:
When your purpose is at the center of your life, your daily actions and your energy are so focused on its realization. Crises and various problems no longer have the same impact on you because you have the mental capacity to give importance to what really matters.
Your environment: loser or winner against procrastination?
One of the most inspiring books I have ever read is Chris Duffin’s: The Eagle & The Dragon. I could seriously write a text solely about Mr. Duffin and his most incredible journey on this earth. Coming from extreme poverty, Chris Duffin succeeded, thanks to his perseverance and resilience in facing extreme situations. Until very recently, he owned one of the largest companies creating training equipment in the USA. Nothing in the environment in which he grew up suggested that he would be able to accomplish so much… in a single lifetime.

Another man who inspires me enormously is named Jocko Willink, who was, some time ago, a Navy SEAL captain in the USA. With his team, they were able to accomplish highly important missions in the most horrible and demanding environments regarding all the elements that forge a resilient human being in the face of adversity.

An Environment Where Procrastination Must be Eliminated
Once again, procrastination has no place in such an environment. You will be brushed aside by your superiors or eliminated by the enemy at the slightest mistake. We are talking about life or death here.
When Procrastination is Shaped by One’s Environment
There are probably hundreds of human beings who could have inspired me in their own way and thus taken the place of these examples in my text. Yet, I don’t know them and probably never will. These men I’m talking about could have aspired to such a grand journey, but small everyday actions or decisions unfortunately took over, leading to a completely different trajectory… without glory… without real significant accomplishment… without challenges that truly propelled them… without self-imposed pain… but unfortunately… with a lot of regrets.
The summary of my thinking is as follows:
A mediocre environment can easily lead to negative influences and non-optimal behaviors. Position yourself in an environment that nourishes you and allows you to evolve and move towards the best version of yourself.
Being at Peace With Oneself: Another Key to Overcoming Procrastination
No one is perfect. That’s what makes our planet perfect. We all make mistakes during our existence. Obviously, some mistakes are much more serious according to society’s views and also based on our own internal value system. My question for you will be the following: do you believe that I would really be able to compose this text if I were currently wanted for murder and constantly living in my head because of my more than nebulous future…?
There is no chance that I would be able to execute this task. I would be in a state of uncontrollable panic and would have trouble controlling my thoughts. I would constantly think about my actions, I would have remorse, I would be terrified of what awaits me… I would be completely disconnected from the present moment, and everything that was a priority before would suddenly become… secondary. I would procrastinate from one day to the next on the fundamental elements that previously made up my daily life. Consumed by the past, ashamed in the present, and already suffocated by the future.

Awareness and Repair of Past Mistakes to Overcome Procrastination
So what is the solution to regain control over our hamster? In my opinion, it will be necessary to repair the mistakes of the past if they are repairable. It will also be necessary to forgive oneself for having acted in a mediocre or foolish way at that precise moment. You will first need to have very good brain energy to simply be able to have these realizations. However, this is very possible.
Inner Peace to be Free
The summary of my thought is:
Constantly being at war with inner demons that relentlessly attack us leads to procrastination for various tasks that would normally be accomplished without having to put in any particular effort. Inner peace is the way to freedom.
Where to begin to address the problem of procrastination?
If you’re wondering where to start after reading this text… from my perspective, I’d say it’s quite simple. At the beginning of the text, we discussed dopamine. What do we need to be able to manipulate it to our advantage? The answer: the necessary building blocks for its production.
If you take the time to fill out this form, I will send you a complete list of the nutrients I use with my clients to optimize their results.
The Other Elements to Address Procrastination
Regarding the other elements I address in the text, it’s truly an individual process that is determined by yourselves, your development… at your own pace. This awareness that you may have gained through this text will be the springboard for action.
However, to take action, we need energy. And with this energy, we must focus on doing what we have to do and not let ourselves be sidetracked by our own brain or the environment in which we are immersed. In other words: let’s avoid procrastinating and be worthy and proud of our actions as well as our daily accomplishments.
